ARTIST STATEMENT

To teach these children how to design anime characters, I will use digital media using an iPad. The software I will be using on the iPad is called Procreate. Also, I will use the Adobe Illustrator with a Ellipse. Before we use the iPad, we will use regular sketch pads to create an idea that we want to create. Each child will come up with several sketches of different characters they want to create. This will be followed by several comprehensive designs of each character until you choose the one you would like to bring to life in the anime world. After the characters have been created, then will come up with a storyline for each character. My goal is for each child to create something that they can be proud. Something that a child can put their artistic skills to actual use. I want to show these children that there is a world out there that they can express themselves artistically. To be able to build up confidence in these children that they have ever had. That you do not have to be a doctor, lawyer or even a professional ball player to be successful in this world
